Born in Dalian, China 1977, Lisa’s passion and aptitude for art was evident at an early age. The following year, Lisa was commissioned by the Geelong Football Club to complete a series of 18 large oil paintings to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the club. The paintings captured key players, significant moments and passionate supporters of the club. The exhibition was on display at the Geelong Art Gallery for a month and was extremely successful. Having lived in Balranald, a small rural town in South Western NSW for many years, the subject matter of my work clearly reflects my love of rural life. I have a passion for the big skies, wide plains, flora, fauna and the characters of the bush. As a traditional artist working in a number of mediums, ie oil, pastels, watercolour and graphite, I have been fortunate to enjoy considerable success during my career. The Inspiration - Following several visits and successfully exhibiting at “The Man From Snowy River Festival “ Art Show Corryong NSW, I was inspired to enter the 2019 National Equine Art Prize. A passion for horses, the bush, art and of course Banjo Paterson’s wonderful poetry, were also contributing factors. In both pieces of work I have endeavoured to create the excitement and action of the legends described in this iconic poem.
